This past week I had the opportunity to visit the group at One World Glendower as they had their final rehearsal session for today’s CD Launch.

On paper, this is what the pilot project is described as, but from what I saw, it is means much more:
“One World: Glendower is a music/recording program conceptualized and designed in its entirety by youth in Scarborough’s Steeles L’Amoreaux neighbourhood with funding from the Laidlaw Foundation and Telus. Over four months, 8 youth worked with artists and experimented with writing, performing, recording and producing their own music. Their ultimate goal? To use their creativity to better the community by creating an environment that facilitates the development of character, empathy and social responsibility.”
