Diam has become the hottest emcee in France since her debut in 2007. Which might be surprising to some because she is a woman, for one, and also, a Muslim. As might be expected French “feminists” have spoken out against her in the climate of hostility that exists towards faith in general, and Islam specifically.

Diam continues to be “…known as a feminist rebel who spits rhymes about war, racism, poverty, and injustice–something that has placed the rapper in the line of French media fire.”
