Facing the Kool-Aid Recovery with Columbia U. Prof. Dorian Warren [VIDEO]

racewire_logo_mainThe AP reports that “more than 80 percent of economists believe the recession is over.” But they don’t face up to the much higher unemployment and poverty in communities of color across the US. “The last full employment program was slavery and sharecropping,” says Dorian Warren, Columbia University professor of Political Science. You can believe recovery has come to people of color, he goes on, “only if you drink the same Kool-aid of the same economists that brought us the recession in the first place.” Check out this installment of “Facing it” on RaceWire, the ColorLines blog.

thank you for posting this beautifully written piece that serves as a reminder of the greatness of malcolm and also as en excellent resource for the worldtown community. the message is clear; commanding to serve justice to a man who stood and died in the name of justice by simply knowing him and what he stood for. learning about malcolm is endless- the depth he carried is like an abyss of knowledge. if his words are to live through our generation and those to come, we must break down the strategic commercial barriers and start living for ideals that drove people and movements to great heights.
