Street Signs :: Singapore

Submitted by thisisworldtown on June 12, 2009 – 9:47 amNo Comment

Street signs can give us insight into a character of a place– reflecting the instructions of local authorities or indicators of commercial interests or something else altogether.
Sometimes informative, sometimes downright strange.

Share the street signs from where you dwell or roam.

No kidding around. - Outside the Mediacorp building, Singapore

danger-singapore

Danger: In some of the country’s major languages - Found on door on Haji Lane, Singapore

hooters-singapore

That’s globalization for ya. - Clarke Quay, Singapore

notasafetybarrier-singapore

These barriers are around construction sites etc all over Singapore. They struck me as very Magritte-esque and unintentionally ironic. - Clarke Quay, Singapore

no-vehicular-traffic-singapore

No vehicular traffic in the underpass– got it? - Clarke Quay, Singapore

arrows-singapore
I liked the symmetry of this traffic sign and location - Clarke Quay, Singapore

Send us interesting signage from your part of the world, or something you’ve encountered in your travels.  Strategic misspelling, misinterpreted hand signage and funny indicators can lead to some amusing sightseeing adventures.

Share them with us and the rest of the folks at Worldtown.
